Our forest is waking up from its long winter's nap! It was fun to come back this week and see all the new green that sprouted while we were away!

*Friday folders and homework bags are due on Monday. Please encourage responsibility when it comes to these items! ;)

-Forest Family Planting Party
Our Forest Family Planting Party 🌸 is planned for April 23 from 6:00-7:30 in the Forest behind our cabins. We’ll have bulbs and seeds ready for your family to help beautify our beloved Forest! Please bring your own gardening gear and be ready to dig!
-Grandparents/friends Day
Please pass along our invitation to your special Grandparents/friends! We’d love to pull out all of the stops and welcome them to our beautiful spaces in our Forest. Friday, May 1 in three different celebrations we will give thanks to God for surrounding us with the support and care of loved ones. Please note the timeframes and locations for each age level:
8-9:30am: Second grade will meet at Pine Ridge at 8am and board busses to the classroom
10-11am: Combined Kindergarten AND 1st grade at 880 Ottawa Avenue
-Pastries With Parents: May 20 @ 8:30
Parents! You are invited to join us for a springtime celebration over pastries after drop off! Wednesday, May 20 during our typical chapel time, you are invited to join us in the chapel amphitheater space and enjoy a pastry together! We’ll be ready to welcome you from 8:30-9:00 at the cabin campus!
Bible: This week we started learning about the Lord's Prayer. We also had a special Eastertide celebration at the High School on Wednesday. This was a beautiful time of praise and worship with the entire district!
ELA: We reviewed our Reading Workshop expectations and reviewed how to find just right books. We're really focusing on being deep readers and paying close attention to what we read.
Math: We finished our unit on measurement and shapes. We'll move into some double digit and triple digit subtraction next!
Outdoor Learning: We noticed many signs of spring this week as we looked around Sassafras!

*Tuesday, May 12: Off-Campus: Community Field Trip to downtwon Holland (8:15-2:15)
*Tuesday, May 19: Off-Campus (8:15-11:15)
*Wednesday, May 20: Pastries with Parents at Chapel (8:30 at K-1 FS Cabins)
*Wednesday, June 3: Final Chapel - special 2nd grade send off (8:30 at K-1 FS Cabins)
*Wednesday, June 3: 1/2 Day of School - Last Day
