Week 27

What a crazy weather week!  We had sun...rain...cold...and warmth!  Thanks for continuing to help your child be prepared for all the different kinds of weather!  Sending your child with a reusable bag to help carry all the gear is really helpful!

Announcements & Reminders:

*Please remember to order lunch by 7am on Monday!  Remember you must order in this time frame for the whole week.  If you click on the three lines in the top left corner of the blog, there is a quick link to the lunch form.

*We are having a special pizza lunch on March 12 - no school or home lunch is needed (unless your child does not want the pizza lunch)! We earned a pizza party from our Parent Board from winning backwards day!

*We're really working on gaining that level of responsibility we will need as 3rd graders! It is OUR homework - please encourage your child to remember to do his/her homework AND to return it to school!

Bible:  No more dusty Bibles in 2nd grade! "Dusty Bibles" by Josiah Queen has become a favorite song during Thursday Praise. Mrs. Allen has created a challenge for our 2nd graders to "dust off those Bibles" and read through the book of Mark during this season of Lent. This can count as our nightly reading minutes too! Click HERE to see this super fun challenge!

ELA:  We did a variety of Camp Read-a-Lot reading and writing activities this week!

We shared our non-fiction animal writing with partners this week!

Math:  We enjoyed some Camp math activities too!

Outdoor Learning:  We continued learning about solids, liquids, and gasses as well as spending some time being still in God's creation.

We finished our solids, liquids, and gasses learning with root beer floats!  What a yummy way to experience all 3 states of matter!

Star Student: Mac was our Star Student this week. We liked looking at his pictures and poster. We learned that Mac is really good at art and enjoys playing soccer. Mac, you are a special child of God and we are thankful you're a part of our classroom family!
