----------

Bible:  We are continuing our work learning about each of Jesus' original 12 disciples. We've currently learned about 10 of the 12. We will finish this work up next week.

ELA:  We went to the Herrick Library on Monday to research our animals we're learning about in Outdoor Learning. We used non-fiction books to record information. We are quickly becoming experts on our animals!

We also learned about Groundhog's Day, which was Monday, by reading an informational text with our reading partners.

We're continuing our non-fiction learning through reading about the Iditarod.  We've enjoyed reading a variety of books discussing the race itself and learning about sled dogs.

Today we culminated our learning of the Iditarod and sled dogs by having the Crystal Blue Kennel sled dogs come for a visit!  We learned all about the dogs, the equipment needed, we got to pet the dogs, and watch them run!  It was so fun!

Since we have our animal research completed, we have started writing our very own non-fiction books about our animals!  Just look at this focused writing!!

Math:  We're working on learning some new math vocabulary (decomposing means breaking apart a group of 10 into 10 ones). We've moved into double digit minus double digit subtraction!

Outdoor Learning:  Now that we completed our research and have a better understanding of what our animal needs in its habitat, we went into our Animal Kingdom, built our animal homes, added food, and set up trail cameras!  We are excited to see what animals visit!

Hiking through deep snow is a LOT of work!  ;)

Star Student: Henry was our Star Student this week. We had fun looking at his poster and pictures. We learned that Henry is really good at running 5ks and enjoys playing basketball and hockey. You are a special child God Henry, we are thankful you're a part of our classroom family!
