3rd Annual “And Heaven And Nature Sing” Family Fun
We hope you can join us for a special evening in the Forest with your family from 6:00 - 7:30pm on Friday, December 12! As part of this third annual event for FS K-5 families, the FS Parent Board has planned a special craft, a guided nighttime hike through Luke 2, and Christmas caroling together!
Kindly RSVP for this event by Friday, December 5.
Christmas Lunch Helpers
Please join us in celebrating our FS teachers and staff during the Christmas season. Several volunteers are needed to provide classroom coverage on 12/10 from 11:30am-12:45pm so that teachers are able to attend the FS Christmas Luncheon together. An email with a sign-up link is forthcoming.
Winter Gear
The cold temperatures are coming! Check out these tried and true gear recommendations compiled by the Forest School Parent Board as we welcome winter.
Would you like to see your tuition bill decrease?
It isn't all about the gift cards any more. In the past year RaiseRight has increased the ways to earn WITHOUT using gift cards, and we would like to share these new options with you! Join Kim and Kristi, our TRIP coordinators, in the High School Media Center at 6:30 on Nov. 18 and learn all about the TRIP program.
-----------
Bible: We're talking about having an "Attitude of Gratitude" as we head toward Thanksgiving. We're slowing down during Bible time and taking the time to focus on the many things we have to be thankful for.
ELA: In reading this week we're focusing on asking and answering questions about our non-fiction texts. In writing we're continuing to write opinion pieces. The "Favorite Cookie" opinion writing is coming home in Friday folders - be sure to take a peek! This week we moved into an opinion writing about the "Tastiest Fruit". I noticed some great details as to why students chose their fruit to be the tastiest.
Math: We're moving into numbers over 100. We're using hundred squares, 10 sticks, and ones cubes to "build" numbers.
Outdoor Learning: On Monday we hiked around Sassafras to see how the snow changes the landscape! The sun came out and it was a beautiful hike!
Star Student: Kennedy was our Star Student this week. We enjoyed looking at Kennedy's pictures and poster! We learned that she is really good at piano and wants to be an ornithologist when she grows up (this is someone who studies birds she taught us)! Kennedy, you are a special child of God and we are thankful you're a part of our classroom family!
