Week Seven
It's October! Wow! Fall is definitely settling upon us at Sassafras House! Our forest playscape is littered with colorful leaves! The trees around us are becoming quite colorful and it's becoming easier to see the sky through the canopy of trees! What a blessing it is to witness the changing of seasons and the beauty God creates!

Night Hike
Our Forest Fall Night Hike is on the calendar. We hope to see you and your family there on Friday, October 17 anytime between 6:00-7:30!
-------
Bible: We've spent time illustrating our September Bible memory verse as well as focusing on what we, 2nd graders at Forest School, can do to be Creation Keepers. This school year we will work our way through the Discipleship Practices that Holland Christian has identified to help our students grow in their love for Jesus. September we focused on Creation Keeping. For the month of October we're moving into Grace Breathing.
ELA: Look at this focused reading! We're focusing in on characters in our stories!
Math: We've moved into story problems (word problems) where we have to read the story and figure out what equation to write and then solve the problem! This is some big math work!
Outdoor Learning: We continued our study of seeds, plants, and trees this week!
Star Student: Martin was our Star Student this week! We had fun looking at Martin's pictures and poster. We learned that his favorite sport is baseball and he wants to be a baseball player when he grows up. Martin, you are a special child of God and we are so thankful you're a part of our classroom family!
