Go Maroons!
Bible: In Bible we've done a fantastic job memorizing Psalm 23. We're also looking at how we, 2nd graders at Forest School, can show Grace Breathing behaviors and also be Word Rooted.
ELA: This week in reading we are enjoying some book/character recommendations from our classmates. We're focusing on questioning, connecting to, and making predictions about our character.
Math: Word problems with missing information, word problems with extra information, word problems with hidden information, and word problems with two steps! Word problems galore! Whew - just look at this focused math work!
Outdoor Learning: We moved into a new outdoor learning unit. We are learning about local laws/rules and how these help the community. We're spending time at different locations around Sassafras Ridge and thinking: "If a visitor came to this space, what should s/he do?, what should s/he not do?, how can we keep this space safe and healthy?". We will spend time off campus in a couple of weeks and around Sassafras Ridge looking at different signs and learning how these rules/local laws help our community. We will eventually make our own signs to help keep the spaces around Sassafras Ridge and its visitors safe and healthy.
Grass Pond
Star Student: Sam was our Star Student this week. It was fun to look at Sam's pictures and poster. We learned that Sam is really good at football and wants to be an NFL player when he grows up. Sam you are a special child of God and we are so glad you're a part of our classroom family!
