Week 37

Whew - what a week with a lot of things happening - buddies, off-campus, chapel, and field day!  Wowza - what a wonderful time!  We started off our week with a Y5s buddy celebration!  This was our last time being with our buddies this year!  We enjoyed reading together, playing, and having lunch by the grass pond!

Our forest is so GREEN!

On Thursday we had a wonderful afternoon of field day!  It wasn't raining or too hot!  It was great to spend all afternoon outside with our K-1 forest friends!  Thank you to all the parents that were able to help out!

Announcements & Reminders:

*Please remember to order lunch by 7am on Tuesday!  Remember you must order in this time frame for the whole week.  If you click on the three lines in the top left corner of the blog, there is a quick link to the lunch form.

*If you are dropping off late/picking up early - please fill out this FORM so that PR Office knows! Thanks!!

*There will be NO SCHOOL LUNCH on Monday, June 2. We are having an extended learning time at the beach pond, so we need all 2nd graders to have a home lunch to take along to the beach pond. Thanks!

*We are looking ahead to end of the year clean-up and I am looking for some bag donations: regular size Meijer type bags, extra large type Meijer bags, paper bags, etc. Thanks!

*We are out of tissues and sanitizing wipes. We just need a couple of these items to help get us through the rest of the year.

*Homework bags and Friday folders are due back on Tuesday. This is our FINAL homework of 2nd grade. I need all homework bags returned so I have them for next year. Thanks!

*It is really important for your child to have a water bottle each day - as the weather warms up, drinking lots of definitely needed!

*Mrs.Bull will be tutoring this summer! She has 4 spots available, so if you’re interested please contact her at bbull@hollandchristian.org

From the Office:

*Sunscreen

The sun rays are becoming more direct at this time of year! We LOVE the warmth but also want to ensure our children are safe from the UV rays. Would you please talk with your children at home and practice applying the sunscreen of your choice? If you’d like your child to reapply at school, we will teach children how to apply a fresh coating of sunscreen that you send with your child to keep them well protected from the UV rays. Thank you!

-------

Bible:  We had a lot of fun at chapel on Wednesday when the other 2nd grade class led and we got to be a part of "Camp Forest School". We enjoyed some singing and dancing at Thursday Praise!

ELA:  We're working on a book review to help build our summer reading lists!

We spent some time writing letters to a first grader.  The first graders will come and visit Sassafras House next week and who better than these experts to teach the 1st graders all about 2nd grade?!

Outdoor Learning:   We spent time this week down by the grass pond praying and enjoying creation.

On Tuesday, we visited Mt. Pisgah and Holland State Park!

We wrote out a prayer for our Time Capsule.
