Week 26

What a week of crazy weather!  We had sun and "warm" temps, we had rain and cold temps, and we had wind!  Our class won a pizza party from Wacky Wednesdays!  So we will be having a pizza party on Friday, March 7.  Please do not order school lunch that day!  Thanks!

We found creative ways to play with all the rain on Wednesday! ;)

Announcements & Reminders:

*Please remember to order lunch by 7am on Monday!  Remember you must order in this time frame for the whole week.  If you click on the three lines in the top left corner of the blog, there is a quick link to the lunch form.

*If you are dropping off late/picking up early - please fill out this FORM so that PR Office knows! Thanks!!

*We are looking for tarps! If you have any lying around that you're not using and would be willing to donate them to us, that would be amazing! We are also looking for some bungee cords and paracord. If you have any extra on hand, we'd be willing to take them off your hands! ;)

*We are also in need of tissues and sanitizing wipes. Thanks so much for helping us with these!

*Thank you for signing up for Parent/Teacher conferences! Miss Richardson and I look forward to chatting with you soon about your sweet second grader!

*Homework bags and Friday folders are due back on Monday.

-------

Bible:  Since we've finished learning about Jesus' 12 disciples, we've moved into looking at how we, 2nd graders at Holland Christian, can be disciples.

ELA:  We are working so hard on our non-fiction animal books! We're using our research packets to help us write different sections of our book.

We're also enjoying our informational book clubs!  We're reading books related to our topic and are learning lots of cool facts while using non-fiction text features to guide us.

Math:  We've moved from using rulers to using meter sticks and yard sticks! We had fun measuring each other and things around the classroom!

We used our evidence of animals from our Dunes hike to make a line plot.

Outdoor Learning:  We spent time on Tuesday at Saugatuck Dunes. We focused on looking for signs of animals during our hike and recorded this data in our nature notebooks. The beach was breathtaking on such a beautiful morning!

The hike back was exhausting!  We were just so HOT! ;)

We are continuing to work on our animal homes, putting out food, noticing signs of animals, and enjoying looking at what our trail cameras capture!

Star Student:  Henry was our Star Student this week. We enjoyed looking at his poster and pictures! We learned that Henry enjoys riding horses and wants to be a zookeeper when he grows up. Henry, you are a special child of God and we are so thankful you are a part of our classroom family!
